Best of both worlds: Vitafoods Europe returns as a SMART event for 2022
Registrations are now open for Vitafoods Europe 2022 both online and in-person this May
Geneva, 15 February 2022 – Vitafoods Europe is set to return as a market-leading SMART event this summer, combining popular in-person attractions with a lively online programme designed to inspire nutraceutical professionals around the world. Attendees will be able to access the online platform a week before the live event (2-13 May) to watch exclusive insight-lead content and use the data-driven matchmaking tool to conduct virtual meetings. Plus, the platform and SMART technology enables them to plan their visit to Geneva and set up in-person meetings in advance to ultimately enhance their experience and maximise their time at the event between 10-12 May.
“With over 22,000 virtual and in-person attendees, Vitafoods 2021 was a huge success, despite the challenges of the ever-changing COVID-19 situation in the build up to the event’s return. Now, Vitafoods Europe is back for 2022 – at its usual May timing – providing opportunities for collaboration in ways that could only have been dreamed of when the exhibition started back in 1997,” says Chris Lee, Managing Director at Informa Markets. “Not only do we have a truly exciting agenda, but our enhanced SMART event is designed to increase connectivity and enhance the in-person experience. By allowing the industry to connect ahead of the event, for example to set up virtual meetings as well as plan face-to-face meetings in Geneva, we’re enabling everyone to expand their global network and make the most of their time at Vitafoods Europe.”
With an agenda exploring market trends, regulatory complexities, packaging and labelling challenges and more – including women in nutraceuticals and sustainability – the SMART event will provide opportunities to network and explore the latest industry trends and innovations both online or in-person. Highlights of this year’s event include:
Extensive expert presentations across 4 theatres – featuring the Main Stage, powered by Vitafoods Insights, Life Stages, New Ingredients, and Probiotics theatres, with over 90 hours of content available across the whole event.
Tailored networking opportunities – enabled by an intelligent data-driven matchmaking service, the SMART event allows visitors to find and connect with potential partners both in-person and online.
Innovation tours – available in video and audio format to enable visitors to discover the cutting-edge ingredients, formulations, products and services on offer at the show.
Themed Resource Centres – including the New Ingredients & Products Zones and, as well as the Omega-3 and Probiotics Resource Centres.
Health and safety first
As always, Vitafoods Europe 2022 is committed to the safety of its visitors, staff and exhibitors. To ensure all visitors can learn, network and collaborate safely, the 2022 exhibition has been planned in line with the latest Informa AllSecure standards and current local Swiss guidance. Further announcements on COVID-19 guidelines will be shared via the Vitafoods Europe website in the coming weeks and months: www.vitafoods.eu.com
Back at the heart of the nutraceutical community
Chris concludes: “With the current pace of change and innovation, there’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of the nutraceutical community – and we’re delighted to be right back at the heart of it, facilitating networking, learning and discovery across the globe through our SMART event. Vitafoods Europe 2022 is set to be one of our best – as well as most safe and accessible – events yet, and we look forward to welcoming everybody back, whether they take part in Geneva or from the comfort of their own office.”

Vitafoods Europe launched in 1997 to meet the growing demands of the emerging nutraceutical industry. CEO and Founder, Nick Hawker, believed there was a need for a dedicated exhibition and scientific conference to fill a gap in the market at the time.
Back then, the event featured only 100 exhibitors in 2,500 square meters of floor space and attracted 1,200 visitors. 22 years later, the 2019 edition of Vitafoods Europe welcomed more than 1,250 exhibitors in 23,000 square meters of floor space and gathered over 25,000 visitors in the Palexpo Exhibition Hall.
This annual gathering sees a truly global audience across four sectors covering the entire nutraceutical supply chain, from beginning to end. Our exhibition, conference and networking events form the perfect ecosystem for businesses to thrive and forge long term collaborations, enrich their understanding and initiate critical conversations around the most pressing issues concerning the health and nutrition industry.
